Tell us about your role with Port Arthur LNG.
In my role as a communications and social media specialist for Port Arthur LNG, I actively engage with the community, primarily through managing social media channels and implementing effective communication strategies. Through strategic planning and content creation, I ensure that the Port Arthur LNG story reaches and resonates with our community. By leveraging social media platforms, I cultivate meaningful connections and promote the positive impact of Port Arthur LNG. It is a rewarding experience to be able to manage our online presence and effectively communicate our message to the community we serve.
What is the community saying about Port Arthur LNG?
I can say that the presence of Port Arthur LNG has had a positive impact – especially in the areas of Port Arthur and Sabine Pass. While we just started construction of the LNG facility it has already created local job opportunities. Additionally, the company has actively engaged with schools and educational institutions, providing support and resources to enhance educational programs to help people who want to ultimately work in energy industry jobs. Overall, I believe the community views Port Arthur LNG as a valuable asset, recognizing its contribution to both employment and education in our area.
You’ve been attending events in the community where Port Arthur LNG has been a partner. What has that been like?
Attending events hosted by Port Arthur LNG has been an amazing experience. It’s truly inspiring to see how the company actively engages with the community and financially supports organizations and groups. These events provide a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration. Port Arthur LNG’s commitment to corporate social responsibility is commendable and positively impacts our community.
What is your connection to one of the programs we fund?
Port Arthur LNG has established a valuable relationship with Woodrow Wilson Early College High School (ECHS), which holds personal significance to me as it is my alma mater. ECHS offers an exceptional early college program, enabling Port Arthur ISD students to earn an associate degree from Lamar State College – Port Arthur during their high school years. I am proud to have been a product of this program, having graduated in 2021 with my degree at the age of 17. It is truly a privilege to witness how Port Arthur LNG, a company that contributed to my education, now serves as my employer, showcasing its commitment to hiring local talent.
If you see Roger today, please wish him a happy birthday!
